Robert Blake, born Michael James Gubitosi, was an American actor who had a prolific career that spanned several decades died he was 89. He began performing as a child with his family in song and dance, but rose to fame as a child actor, particularly for his lead role in the final years of the Our Gang (Little Rascals) short film series from 1939 to 1944. He also appeared as a child actor in 22 entries of the Red Ryder film franchise, often playing American Indian or Latino characters.

Blake's career continued into adulthood, where he appeared in numerous films and television shows, including his iconic role in the 1967 film In Cold Blood and playing the lead character in the late 1970s television series Baretta. He was known for his versatility and ability to transition from child actor to mature roles, making his career "one of the longest in Hollywood history."

However, Blake's personal life was marked by tragedy and controversy. In 2001, his second wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, was murdered, and Blake was criminally tried but ultimately acquitted of the charges. However, he was found liable in a civil suit for Bakley's wrongful death.
