Over the course of his long and illustrious career, he directed numerous critically acclaimed films that explored themes of politics, history, culture, and the human condition.
(4 January 1932 – 10 February 2023) 

One of Saura's most notable works was the 1966 film The Hunt, which examined the lasting impact of the Spanish Civil War on the country's people and society. He also gained renown for his trilogy of Flamenco-inspired musicals, which included Blood Wedding, Carmen, and El Amor Brujo. These films were celebrated for their innovative use of music, dance, and storytelling, and helped to establish Saura as a leading figure in Spanish cinema.

Throughout his career, Saura received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including multiple Goya Awards, Spain's highest film honors. He was also recognized with honorary awards and lifetime achievement honors from festivals and institutions around the world.

Following his appearance on AGT, Alexander continued to perform and hone his craft. He appeared on season 2 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015, performing as part of a double act with the Magic of Puck, but was unable to fool the legendary magician duo.

Television's two albums, Marquee Moon and Adventure, are considered classics of the genre,


and Verlaine's guitar work on these records is widely regarded as some of the best of the era. His unconventional playing style, which combined elements of punk, blues, and avant-garde music, pushed the boundaries of what was possible on the guitar and inspired countless imitators.
