Denny Laine, a celebrated musician and co-founder of both The Moody Blues and Wings, passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving behind an incredible legacy in the world of rock music.
Throughout his illustrious career, Laine worked alongside some of the biggest names in music, including Paul McCartney, Ginger Baker, Trevor Burton, and Bev Bevan. His talent as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter earned him recognition and admiration from both fans and fellow musicians.
As a member of The Moody Blues, Laine sang lead on their breakthrough hit "Go Now," and later played an instrumental role in the success of Wings, co-writing songs with McCartney and performing on classics such as "Mull of Kintyre."
Laine's contributions to the world of music were nothing short of remarkable, and he will be remembered as a true rock legend. His passion for music and his extraordinary talent have left an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of musicians to

Laine faced health challenges in his later years, contracting COVID-19 in 2022 and undergoing multiple surgeries for lung issues, including a collapsed lung. Despite these difficulties, his impact on the music world remained strong, prompting friends, supporters, and fellow musicians to organize a benefit concert at the Troubadour nightclub to help cover his medical expenses.
Denny Laine passed away on 5 December 2023 in Naples, Florida, at 79, due to interstitial lung disease. His wife, Elizabeth Mele, announced his death on his official Facebook and Instagram pages, allowing fans worldwide to share in mourning the loss of a musical legend and celebrating the incredible life he lived.
