Larry King was a well-known American television and radio host who won two Peabodys, an Emmy, and ten Cable ACE Awards.

He was born in Brooklyn in 1933 to Orthodox Jewish parents who immigrated from Belarus. King's father died when he was nine years old, and he had to help support his mother.

He started working in radio broadcasting at an early age and gained his first job in radio as a disc jockey for a small station in Miami Beach. King gained


prominence as the host of The Larry King Show, an all-night nationwide call-in radio program. From 1985 to 2010, he hosted the nightly interview television program Larry King Live on CNN, where he conducted over 50,000 interviews. King passed away on January 23, 2021.

  • In addition to his radio and television career, Larry King was also an author, having written several books throughout his life. These include an autobiography called "My Remarkable Journey," as well as books about his experiences as a broadcaster and interviews with famous figures.

  • Larry King was married eight times to seven different women. He had five children, and several of his children went on to have careers in the entertainment industry.

  • In 1987, Larry King suffered a heart attack that led to him undergoing quintuple bypass surgery. After the surgery, he became an advocate for heart health and encouraged others to take care of their cardiovascular health.

  • In addition to his many awards and accolades for broadcasting, Larry King was also recognized for his philanthropic work. He was a supporter of several charities and foundations, including the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, which provides funding for cardiac treatment to those in need.

  • Larry King passed away on January 23, 2021, at the age of 87. His death was attributed to sepsis, a complication from a previous COVID-19 infection. He was mourned by many in the broadcasting industry and beyond, who remembered him for his contributions to media and his unique interviewing style.
