Alfredo Sanchez Brell , known as Aldo Sambrell, was a Spanish film actor, director and producer who made over 150 appearances in film between 1961 and 1996.

Sambrell was best known in the world of cinema for his roles as a henchmen in Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Western films, portraying gang members in the trilogy of films A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More, (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in 1966 and in Once Upon a Time in the West in 1968 he also played the part of firing squad leader in A Fistful of Dynamite (1971).Actor, Director. Brell fled Spain as a child to escape the Spanish Civil War and was raised in Mexico. He broke into the entertainment industry, initially as a singer, before returning to Europe where he launched his film career, becoming one of the busiest actors from that continent during the 1960s, beginning with "King of Kings" (1961), as he would appear in more than 150 international motion pictures. Performing under several stage names, Sambrell would go on to have numerous memorable parts, including the ruthless bandit opposite Burt Reynolds in "Navajo Joe" (1966), and a reunion with Sergio Leone in "Once Upon a Time in the West" (1969). During the 1970s, Sambrell would lend his talents behind the camera, with several directorial efforts, beginning with "Bloody Sun" (1974).

He acted in many other westerns, including Sergio Corbucci's Navajo Joe. He appeared in several international productions as an extra or bit actor, including Doctor Zhivago and The Wind and the Lion.


Aldo Sambrell was born in Madrid, Spain on 23 February 1931, and died in Alicante, Spain on 10 July 2010, at age 79, the result of three strokes he suffered in early June of 2010.
